The Chamber was very pleased with the attendance of the 2019 Administrative Professional Luncheon that was held on April 24, at the McRae United Methodist Church Social Hall. It was definitely a success. It is a pleasure to be able to provide this luncheon each year to honor Telfair County’s Administrative Professionals.
Each year, the Telfair County Chamber of Commerce accepts nominations for Administrative Professional of the Year. It was with great honor, that this year’s award was presented to Christy Carpenter. Ms. Carpenter is employed by Pineleaf Investment where she is the assistant office manager. Christy has the unique ability to focus on all of the details necessary to manage payroll, accounts payable, and health insurance for the business.
Terry Cook wrote “Christy’s success is even more amazing when you realize the challenges she had to conquer simply to come to work after she was diagnosed with a rare auto immune disease. Christy dreamed of a full recovery and worked diligently each day in therapy to make it a reality. Through her positive spirit and dedication, Christy made great improvements. The most amazing part of Christy’s story is how she strives to work despite her ongoing health care challenges. Christy still maintains a sweet, caring spirit with everyone. “She is always a happy cheerful person who has a smile on her face that can make anyone’s day better no matter how good or bad things are going. She is a dedicated employee.”
Special Guest was Mr. Jimmy Pruett, GA State Representative.
The Chamber would like to send out a big ‘Thank You’ to the following: C.J.’s Flower and Gifts for the beautiful flowers; Lon Hamilton-Southern Star Grill for the delicious meal; Robert Hendricks-Telfair Snapshots for taking the photos; McRae United Methodist Church for the use of their social hall; Volunteers: Debbie Bullard, Carla Evans, Laura Smith, Eric Smith, Tom Anderson, Ruthie Jackson, Ora Cooper, Lee Cannon, Judy Williams, Don McDuffie.
