Mrs. Toni Cravey has worked as the Telfair County Middle School front office receptionist for two years and served as a substitute in that capacity at various times prior to that. Among her other daily defined duties, she has become “the face of TCMS” through greeting ALL types of people on a daily basis: from staff members, to students, to visitors, to parents; many of which may not be in the best of moods.  Since hers is the first face, and usually the last face, that a visitor to the school sees, she must always maintain a professional demeanor and have a smile on her face to make them feel welcome, no matter what frame of mind they are in.  She treats everyone with respect, even when she unfairly bears the brunt of their displeasure.

 Mrs. Cravey keeps the school funning smoothly by taking a constant barrage of messages from parents, and vendors, making sure students receive those all-important items that parents bring to them because they forgot them at home, compassionately comforting those students whose problems of the moment seem like the end of the world to them, as well as a host of other things,  I have rarely seen here lose her composure or become frazzled when ten different things are all happening at once.  In the end, she somehow makes it all work out for everyone involved.

She also has the unenviable job of securing substitute teaches when staff members are absent, as well as keeping up with all staff leave and student attendance.  She fields sick calls late at night and early in the morning, many times before even really waking up and sometimes with just minutes to spare before the school day starts.  From the seemingly ever-diminishing list of qualifie4d subs, she somehow pulls together enough people to ensure that the school day runs as smoothly as possible.  She consistently goes above and beyond to assist staff and students, all while the phone is ringing nonstop, visitors and parents are constantly coming in and out, and teaches need copies. While all of this would resemble chaos to the outside observer and drive most people mad, Mrs. Cravey handles it with poise and grace and is an invaluable asset to the Telfair County Middle School.
